Christmas!



Our theme this year was Gingerbread Men in the front room of Wild Rose and our display room was filled with vintage toys.

Vintage Christmas




We worked with the Chamber of Commerce to present the first annual Vintage Christmas in Old Town Keller.

100th Anniversary of US Entry into WWI




We commemorated the 100th anniversary of the US entry into WWI with an exhibit and with two days of events which included a WWI movie and talks by members of the Phillips family who shared their stories and memorabilia.

Wild Rose Grant!




In October we received a grant to reprint "Wild Rose a Folk History", a history of the Cross Timbers area written by our President Joyce Gibson Roach. The book  is now available for sale at Wild Rose Heritage Center.

Old Town Station House Opening




The official opening of the Station House Museum.  Rollin Phipps received the Volunteer Appreciation Award for his many hours of work setting up the train museum and his numerous donations of artifacts to the museum.  There were weaving demonstrations, music, food and stories for all to enjoy.

Chamber Music Camp




The camp was held at Wild Rose and the Station House.  Fifteen young musicians spent three days getting intensive instructions and training in playing chamber music together.  A pizza party and outdoor recital for family and friends was held at the end of the third day.

Founder's Day


Our third annual Founder's Day celebration to commemorate the first day the train sstopped in Keller, May 9, 1881. Vendors, demonstrations, bank robbery and gun fight reenactments. A bagpiper led a scout troop in for the raising of the flag ceremony.

Memorial Day





On Memorial Day we participated in ceremonies at Mt. Gilead Cemetery, near the site of the original community of Athol.  Sandy Naseef arranged a tribute by setting up a Fallen Comrade Table which we later moved to permanent display at Wild Rose.

Local Activities





Our facilities are used for many community activities including student music recitals and the celebration of World Tai Chi Day.

Speeder and Work Trailer!




A speeder and work trailer were added to our outdoor display at Old Town Station House. Both were generously donated by Rollin Phipps. These were used by railroad work crews in the maintenance of track through the early 1970's.

Rummage Sale!




We held a rummage sale to help raise much needed funds for operating costs to keep both Wild Rose and the Station House open to the public.

Interurban Ticket Booth arrives!




A restored 1920's Interurban Ticket Booth, one of only two in north Texas, was moved onto the Station House property along with a water tower once used on a local farm.  Both were generous donations from Ron Lee.
